America's Most Entertaining Halls of Fame

"There's no place like home." Dorothy's mantra from The Wizard of Oz has taken on new meaning these days as Americans forgo expensive trips abroad for adventures closer to home. If you've already gambled at a Las Vegas casino, posed with Mickey at Disney World, and sampled the splendors of Yosemite and Yellowstone national parks, consider something a little different, like a pilgrimage to one of America's many shrines to its heroes, athletes, celebrities, and other go-getters.

You can pay homage to America's bravest at the Police Hall of Fame in Miami, or check out your favorite superstar at the rock 'n' roll or country music halls. But the choices are even more diverse than you might think. Strippers, inventors, bowlers, and gospel singers all have halls of fame, too. The famous and unknown featured in these pages are equally exceptional; the halls they grace are guaranteed to yield a highly entertaining and educational experience.
